Requirements & Applications for Candidacy

Requirements

All academic requirements for the doctoral degree, except dissertation, must be completed by the start of internship. In addition, we prefer the dissertation proposal be approved before the start of internship.

Applications

We participate in the National Matching Services Program (NMS). Interested applicants must obtain an Applicant Agreement Package from NMS and register for the Match in order to be eligible to match to our program. You can request an Applicant Agreement package from NMS through the Matching Program web site or by contacting NMS at:

Interested applicants should submit:

1. cover letter
2. Vita
3. A completed APPIC application packet
4. Official transcripts of graduate coursework
5. Three letters of recommendation, two of which must be from persons familiar with applicant's counseling/clinical competencies
6. Part I of APPIC Application for Psychology Internship
7. Academic Program's Verification of Internship Eligibility & Readiness (Part II of AAPI).
